Special Service For A Special Lady

October 8, 2019

I was walking in the middle of the street. Police cars were parked on the left and right sides of the street and were partially blocking the sidewalks in front of the police station.

Right after passing the station, I saw a van ahead of me spew out a paper cup, then another and another up to a fifth one, all of which still had a few milliliters of what seemed to be a cherry beverage.

When I was beside the car I saw a “special needs” teenager who seemed to be the one who threw out the cups as he moved from the middle aisle seat to the front seat.

As I walked by and looked back I saw an old lady get off from the middle aisle of the van.

I looked at her and pointed at the paper cups.

Guessing what I was trying to tell her she said “He is a special boy”. I answered back “It’s the paper cups”

She answered back with a question, “Who are you?”

I said I am a concerned citizen.

She retorted, “Why are you so arrogant?”

I answered back, “Oh my God! That is not what we are talking about.”

Out of nowhere a street sweeper started sweeping away the paper cups and said to the lady, “Hayaan ninyo na lang po, ako na lang ang bahala. (Let it be, I’ll take care of the cups)”

“Akala mo kung sino (He thinks he is some big shot).” the lady said to the street sweeper.

I walked by.
